From the Editors Desk
Ho Ho Ho and a bottle of rum… oops, nope, that’s not right. Perhaps I have been working offshore for too long. What I meant to say was, Ho Ho Ho Merry Xmas… Can you believe Xmas is but a few weeks away? Where has this year gone? It seems just like yesterday that I was working on the first edition of The Responder, and here I am sitting and putting together the December 2011 edition. As the saying goes “all good things must come to an end”. In this case, it is exciting to say that we are only just getting started here at Be Safe Paramedical and The Responder.. We have been producing The Responder for one year now and your positive feedback has inspired us to aim even higher in the coming year. The recent Emergency Medicine in the Developing World Conference held during November exceeded all our expectations. Not only did it give us an opportunity to display our quality products to a host of local and foreign delegates, but also gave us a chance to meet with many of our clients and readers face-to-face. Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to chat with our representatives at our stall. Your kind words of encouragement on both our stall and products were overwhelming. We appreciate your support. We are also very proud of the fact that the laryngoscope set which we donated as a prize in a lucky draw at the Congress was won by a foreign delegate and was taken to the USA. May it provide an endless ray of life-saving light to all who use it. This edition of The Responder once again provides some excellent specials, and our article provides information on accessing our services over the festive season and some of our plans for the coming year. With that said, all at Be Safe Paramedical wish you a happy and safe festive season and a prosperous 2012. To all our readers and clients working in the Emergency Medical Services over this festive season, please drive safely and remember that our thoughts and heartfelt thanks will accompany you on every call for help you make.

Well it’s just about time for us to close down the offices for our year end break. We will be closing for business on the 15th of December 2011 and reopening on the 11th of January 2012. We do realise that our clients often require additional equipment over this period of time as healthcare workloads often reach a peak, as such we will have a small group of staff working at our Cape Town Warehouse from the 19th of December until the 23rd of December 2011 and again on the 3rd of January 2012 until we reopen for business on the 11th of January 2012. At this time of the year, it is common for companies to reflect on their successes, challenges and growth over the past year and then to develop plans to ensure that our successes are enhanced and our challenges are turned into strengths in the coming year. It has been a fantastic 2011 for us, and it would never have been possible without your continued support. We made numerous changes to some of our well known products, like our crash bags, to ensure that you receive top quality for your money. We also introduced a range of products under our CritiPack™ name which have been received with great interest. Our newsletter The Responder was launched at the beginning of 2011 and has also been extremely well received. Thank you for your positive feedback and encouragement. It is true that a business of any sort can only survive in its most basic form if it meets the basic expectations of its clients. The term basic can be an extremely obscure word, as it implies very little change as long as basic client needs are being met. In order for a company to be considered ‘great’ it should always look to ways to ensure that client’s needs are not only met, but rather exceeded through a synergistic relationship based on mutual trust and respect. The relationship is synergistic because by paying attention to the needs and expectations of our clients, we can adapt, improve and as a result, grow. As a client, you can always be assured of superior quality products, progressive services and business dealings with people who understand the importance of the services you provide with our products. As a result of this fundamental philosophy, Be Safe Paramedical has some exciting plans for 2012 which we believe will not only provide better quality services and products, but will allow our clients to actively participate in ongoing quality improvement in our company We aim to introduce a Quality Management System early in 2012, which we believe will lead to formal ISO 9001 accreditation (Quality Management System). The core of our Quality Management System is client based and it will be put in place to ensure that our commitment to exceed your expectations is formally integrated into our business model. This will include audits of our products and manufacturing processes by predefined quality measures by independent auditors, which will allow us to further enhance our guarantee in the products and services you purchase from us. We are extremely excited about this initiative and we believe that it will further enhance the client/ company synergism that already exists. We are always keen to assist you with your medical product and service needs. As such, we again invite you to contact us with any special needs or ideas you may have that will further enhance the patient care services your organisation provides. Be it a specialised jump/crash bag, device or medical text book, Together with you, Be Safe Paramedical will be there to make it happen. Further to our plans to enhance our products and services, Be Safe Paramedical will be taking on additional staff who we believe will add great value, not only to our company, but also to you, our greatest asset. Keep an eye out on future editions of The Responder for announcements on who will be joining our family. Please take care and be safe over this festive season. Traffic is hectic and people seem to take unnecessary chances which can often end in disastrous results. Add in the odd braai and bottle or two of wine and the danger increases tenfold. Please remember, drink responsibly and drive even more responsibly. Never drink your limit, rather limit your drinking. With that said, we wish you all a wonderful and safe festive season and we look forward to an exciting and prosperous 2012 together with you.
